Football News Point is an independent publication about international football — not the news cycle, but the history, tactics and culture behind it. We write long-form pieces designed to be read once and remembered, not skimmed once and forgotten.
The name comes from the attacking third of the pitch — the zone where matches are actually decided. That’s the standard we hold every article to: does it move the reader’s understanding of the game forward, or is it just filling space around a headline?

Our approach
Every article on this site is written and edited in-house. We don’t chase transfer rumours or breaking news — there are excellent outlets for that already. Instead, we focus on the questions that don’t have a shelf life: why a tactic works, how a rule came to exist, or what actually made a legendary player different from everyone else on the pitch.
Corrections
Football history is full of disputed details and conflicting accounts. If you spot something you believe is inaccurate, we want to hear about it and will correct genuine errors promptly.
